Vishakha Bellizia-Lyons

Injury and Recovery Massage Specialist

Hi everyone!

I have been a Massage Therapist for almost a decade now. I graduated from CCMT (Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy) on September 25th, 2015.

The style of massage that I offer is strictly Deep Tissue Injury and Recovery. My work is goal-based and result-driven, I focus strictly on your injury or pain which can be very intense and invasive. My aim is for us to gradually work together to help reduce pain and discomfort. I am a passionate worker and love developing, setting, and reaching goals with my clients. For example, working with someone struggling or unable to walk from sciatica pain, and then being able to help them reduce that pain over the course of time to have a better quality of life, is all I'm asking for.

I also work on athletes at UConn in Storrs, CT, which feeds my passion, because I really enjoy helping people guide the body's natural recovery process.

In my free time, I love to teach Martial Arts, sing, draw, write stories, model, work with animals, and just enjoy life. I have so much to give, and I feel like I can give it!

My Specialties are:

  • Sciatica

  • Car accidents

  • Workout injuries

  • Work-related injuries

  • Sports massage and injuries

  • Loss of range of motion

  • Before and after surgery

  • Before and after sports events

  • Energy Work/Myofascial Release, Inner Healing focusing on depression and anxiety. (I am NOT a therapist)

What should I expect when I book an appointment with Vishakha?

We begin the session by chatting about your wants and needs. After gathering information, I then allow my hands to intuitively listen to the body's response because the body can tell me a whole different story. As I read the body's needs, I then work on reducing discomfort or pain in those areas. At the end of the session, I will chat with you and give you suggestions on how you can be gentle with your body in between sessions, to produce better results.
